Work Party For New Dunlap Launch (All Day)
As many of you know, there is a project going on now to greatly expand the launch at Dunlap. This work is funded by the Foundation for Free Flight and a contribution from the Bay Area Paragliding Association. Connie Locke sent in earth movers a few weeks ago, which should open up the launch area for several gliders to set up at once.
There is other work to do: more clearing and brush removal, spreading of grass seed, and so on. This must be done before the rainy season ends and the ground becomes hard. That is why we are arranging for a work party the weekend of April 19. I’ll follow up in a bit to let everyone know what equipment to bring.
BAPA will contribute by arranging for cabins at the Sequoia Highlands, and to provide drinks and goodies. After the work is done we can fly!

Bob Drury - Paragliding The Himalayas (All Day)

Bob Drury is the editor of Cross Country Magazine, an international paragliding and hanggliding magazine. Bob will tell stories and show images from his vol bivouac adventures in the Himalayas.

After the meeting Susan Kent, Kevin Hester and Joe Azure will give a presentation on their great XC trip in Chile last winter. Kevin and Joe went for the first week geared toward less experienced pilots. Susan stayed two weeks - the second week was for pilots who had more XC experience. Wings of Rogallo meets every 3rd Tuesday of each month, at the Summit Pointe Golf Club in Milpitas. Food/social hour at 7:00 pm, meeting starts at 8:00 pm.
Sonoma Wings Hang Gliding Club meets every 4th Thursday of the month at the Round Table Pizza, Hwy 12 and Stonypoint Rd. in Santa Rosa at 7:00pm.
