I am pleased to announce that this year's BAPA reserve clinic has been scheduled for Saturday, March 8th at Juan Laos's barn in Moraga. Come learn as Wally Anderson shows us proper techniques for throwing our reserve parachutes. It's a good idea to practice these techniques so you won't waste precious time thinking about them in those short seconds before impact!
Attendees will need to bring their own harness and reserve. We will practice tossing the reserve from a simulator with the chute held together so it won't fully deploy. If you wish, you may fully deploy the reserve on your last toss; we recommend making the arrangements with Wally for a re-pack before doing this. Re-packing reserve chutes will not be covered in the clinic, but Wally can provide professional re-packing services separately.
There will be a $10 fee per attendee to help defray the costs of the clinic. Due to the remote location BAPA will provide sandwiches and refreshments.
Those interested in knowing more should write to Kurt Niznik at kurtniznik@yahoo.com. Attendance will be limited to 15 BAPA members so write to me soon to secure your place. I will provide attendance details (driving directions, times, parking information) to pilots that register for the event.
