Penguin's Paragliding PagesParagliding on the Northern California Coast (Hang Glider Pilots welcome too)... and Other Stuff
There are not too many paraglider or hang glider pilots on the way Northern California Coast. But them that is are a tight bunch - and we enjoy visiting pilots and enjoy sharing our beautiful, if fickle, coastal flying sites: Mattole, Shelter Cove, and Table Bluff. The marine influence, rugged topography, and tall trees (Redwoods!) pretty much rule out inland flying sites, though there are a few, sometimes. But if we want to thermal fly, we have to travel. For local weekend flying, we check the weather and head for the coast. The "Sites" link provides some information about were we fly. These links used to be on my personal pages, but now are on the Humboldt Wings Club website. So if you happen to be traveling up or down Highway 101 in California, and hit the Redwood Country looking for a place to fly, give me a call or an E-mail. Meanwhile, welcome to my site - browse around. Gerald E. Myers - Penguin
