Mission Ridge is occasionally closed due to high fire danger. Please call the EBRPD fire hotline at 510-544-2222 before going to the preserve during fire season (late summer). The recording is updated every day. FYI, The EBRPD rangers determine the fire danger with a combination of relative humidity, temperature, wind speed, and amount of available fuel (dry grass). Note: Mission Ridge is in a different weather cell than Mt. Diablo.
