Come to the Coastal Cleanup at Mussel Rock Sep 20! Print  | E-mail

Hello BAPA Members.  How about donating a little time this Saturday 9/20 to help clean up the Mussel Rock area?  Each year BAPA and other volunteer organizations, as well as local residents, participate in the California Coastal Cleanup Day.

The event runs from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. at Mussel Rock - come to pick up a few bags of trash and recyclables and help beautify our great flying site.  I will be there with drinking water, refreshments, trash bags, some pairs of work gloves, tally sheets and a few giveaways including aluminum water bottles.

After the cleanup, trash will be transported to the Sharp Park area and Lynn Adams of the Pacifica Beach Coalition is organizing a picnic for all volunteers who participate in the cleanup.

However, it's a good bet that most pilots will be hauling out their wings and going flying after the cleanup - it's traditionally soarable on this day and we've been having some super smooth and lifty conditions recently, as well as hundreds of whale sitings.

Please come join us at Mussel Rock on Saturday.  If you can make it, This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it message.  If you have a pickup truck and can help with transporting trash bags at the end, please let me know.

Thanks Everyone!
